Hi,
This is the cover of the may-june issue of an italian magazine.
The original concept is the revival and development of new ideas for better and sustainable future. In paint this illustration I am inspired by old botanical books, and the famous "Codex seraphinianus" by the artist Luigi Serafini.

I made the basic elements in Maya, the details and textures in Zbrush and the final composition in photoshop. For the creation of the roots, grass and gears I used some custom brushes.
The old paper was superimposed in "multiply" at the end of the process.
The phrase:"Immaginare il futuro" can be translated: "imagine the future"...
